Discussions between the President, Ismail Omar Guelleh and Director General of Fades focused on the construction of a port Tadjourah to facilitate the development of economic exchanges between the northern regions of the country and Ethiopia. These exchanges will be facilitated by the new section of road-Dorra Tadjourah-Balho, an indispensable complement to the delivery of goods from cargo ships that docked at the port of Tadjourah future and, thanks to the road, may be sent to Ethiopia.

Early in the day, the Director General of AFESD and Prime Minister Dileita Mohamed Dileita signed two agreements for financing on a loan of 7,000,000 Kuwaiti dinars or fdj 4,242,000,000, for the rehabilitation of distribution networks of drinking water for the city of Djibouti. This is mainly to replace the water pipes are old, because of losses on the networks are estimated at 30%.
The second financing agreement covers a donation of 1 million U.S. dollars is our 177,000,000 francs for the fight against drought. AFESD is a development partner of prime importance and is also one of the leading contributors to the development since the accession of our country’s independence in 1977. As a reminder, the volume of financial contribution from the AFESD amounts to 53 million Kuwaiti dinars is a whopping 178 million U.S. dollars.

Of Housing, through the educational infrastructure such as primary schools and the construction of colleges in the districts of the Interior, to telecommunications, the Fund has supported the development of the country.
